Crane Aerospace & Electronics Selected to supply COMAC's C929 Doors Signal System

PARIS, June 16, 2025 – Crane Aerospace & Electronics, a segment of Crane Company (NYSE:CR), has been selected to supply the Doors Signal System (DSS) on the COMAC C929 wide-body aircraft. Crane A&E’s sensing system solution will include nearly 100 Proximity Sensors, along with Proximity Sensor Data Concentrators (PSDC) and Door Indicators.
With more than 1 million sensors flying today, Crane A&E is a trusted supplier of industry-leading sensing components and systems, which are engineered to excel in the most rugged aerospace environments. Crane A&E’s DSS solution will include software which is hosted within an Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) system architecture. Each proximity sensor will be connected to a locally installed PSDC, instead of running wires from each proximity sensor to a centralized electronics unit, saving weight.
“Crane A&E has a long history of supplying innovative sensing solutions to our valued customers, and we’re pleased to be selected as a supplier on the COMAC C929,” said Joseph Mundinger, Crane A&E Vice President & GM, Sensing & Power Systems. “We are committed to providing world-class solutions and look forward to continuing our strong partnership with COMAC.”
Aside from the C929, Crane A&E also supplies the COMAC C919 narrow-body aircraft a Doors Signal System solution. Crane A&E’s full line of proximity sensing components and systems include both active and passive proximity sensors that provide superior reliability for the most demanding environments.
