LYNNWOOD, Wash. – February 27, 2006 – Crane Aerospace & Electronics has
been selected by Airbus to provide a New Generation Doors and Slides
Control System (DSCS) for the A330/340. The DSCS monitors the position
of the aircraft’s passenger and cargo doors to ensure that they are
safely closed, locked and latched. First deliveries of the new system
are anticipated in 2007.
Greg Ward, Aerospace Group President for Crane Aerospace & Electronics
stated, “With this contract, we are now the door control system supplier
for all models of the A330/340. We are extremely pleased to be in this
position with Airbus because it allows us to bring more value to this
family of great aircraft.” The new DSCS is also ideal for airlines
looking to upgrade their existing door system since it leverages the
advantages of Crane Aerospace & Electronics’ newest high-accuracy,
all-metal proximity sensors.
