LYNNWOOD, Wash. – April 12, 2004 – Crane Aerospace & Electronics, a Crane
Co. segment, has been selected by Lockheed Martin to provide ELDEC
Proximity Switches for the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program.
The program will use two different hermetic proximity switches in the
aircraft door and utility systems. First deliveries are scheduled for
later this year.
Greg Ward, president of the Aerospace Group of Crane Aerospace &
Electronics, noted the significance of the contract, stating, “Lockheed
Martin is a key military customer and this is one of the largest new
military aircraft programs. We’re very pleased to have been selected on
this program.” Crane Aerospace & Electronics also was selected to
provide brake control systems for the JSF, as well as oil pumps designed
to ensure continuous and reliable lubrication for the aircraft’s
shaft-driven lift fan. The JSF program is projected at over 3,000
