The
PSH 88011 is a military high voltage power supply used in airborne
doppler radar systems. This unit converts 3 phase 400Hz into 16KW at
10 percent duty cycle of pulsed power. The helix supply provides -11.2
to -12.7kV @ 500mA peak, the collector 1 output delivers 8kV @ 0.76A
peak: the collector 2 output delivers 5kV @ 0.81A peak. The maximum
beam current is 2.1A. The positive grid voltage is +165 to +240V @
325mA, the cut off voltage is -192V. Heater voltage is 6.3 VDC @ 2A.
The PRF is up to 165kHz, with pulse width from 0.3µs to 100µs.
Efficiency is 85 percent minimum at full power.
When mated with the 4kW X-band TWT matched to this power supply, the
phase noise of the resulting amplifier is better than -70dBc. The unit
provides full protection to the TWT and to itself, with average and
peak current protections on beam and helix supplies, as well as
over/under voltage on cathode and filament outputs, and on input AC
voltage. |
