President, Aerospace Group
Brendan Curran was appointed President of the Aerospace Group of Crane Aerospace
& Electronics in June 2013. As president, Curran is responsible for Aerospace
Group product solutions, including fluid management, landing gear systems, cabin
systems, and sensing components and systems. He is located in Lynnwood,
Curran brings extensive aerospace industry experience within the aircraft
system, engine and airframe segments to Crane. Prior to joining Crane, he held a
number of diverse roles of increasing responsibility with United Technologies
Corporation. Most recently, Curran was Vice President, Strategy, Business
Development & Partnerships, for Pratt & Whitney – Commercial Engines. Prior to
joining Pratt & Whitney, Brendan served in a number of executive management
positions with UTC’s Hamilton Sundstrand Division.
Curran is replacing Tom Perlitz, who has been acting as the Interim President
for Crane’s Aerospace Group and who will return to his corporate role.
Curran holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the
University of Vermont and received his Master’s degree in International
Business/Operations from the Columbia Business School in New York.
President, Electronics Group
Bob Tavares was appointed President of the Electronics Group of Crane Aerospace
& Electronics in March 2012. As president of the Segment's Electronics Group,
Tavares is responsible for product and service solutions, including power,
microwave and microelectronics. He is located in Redmond, Washington.
Tavares comes to Crane Aerospace & Electronics with an extensive background in
the Defense and Microwave industries and with experience in numerous senior
roles from general management to engineering.
Since leaving Crane in July, he was the President of e2V in North America.
Tavares spent most of his career at Tyco Electronics M/A-Com Division, and left
M/A-Com after they were acquired by Cobham. He started his career as an engineer
and then progressively advanced his career to his latest position of President
of this $320 million business. He also created divisional LEAN and Six Sigma
programs, which became the foundation for the Operational Excellence Program in
Tavares holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from UMASS at Dartmouth and also is 6 Sigma
green belt certified.
